Wednesday Jan 29, 2020
Wednesday Jan 29, 2020
FTW: Lynn and her alternate go to two separate GSR meetings.
Definition: Humility: Freedom from pride or arrogance
Humility is about remaining teachable.
We discussed how we can lean into pride too much, humility in sobriety and day to day life and work.
The struggle of the ego which is pride of an accomplishment vs. doing good work.
Self-deprecating is the opposite of arrogance but the same in thinking of yourself all the time!
Humility = Gratitude
Being grateful takes away from coveting.
“True humility is not thinking less of yourself; it is thinking of yourself less.”

This week's episode is about the principal that coincides with the 5th step - Integrity and Truth. We discuss how this principal guides our lives.
First Thought Wrong: Bre shares how she had a mini moment when there was something she showed up for and the person she was supposed to meet didn't come. How she got to the point where she realized she was right where she was supposed to be!
We discuss the way being honest and in our integrity is a priority and how it was't always that way prior to recovery.
We share a great poem The Cookie Thief by Virginia Cox. Link: https://chatsworthconsulting.com/ChatsworthConsultingGroup_The_Cookie_Thief.pdf

4th Agreement - Always Do Your Best & Use the Ranch Dressing
Wednesday Nov 13, 2019
Wednesday Nov 13, 2019
There is a misconception that in order to feel like you’ve done your best work, you have to work until the moment you burn out. I had always considered giving my best effort something that required me hitting a high standard that I’ve set for myself alongside standards other people have set for me. After a lot of reflection, I realized the standards of “doing one’s best” can be whatever you want it to be.
We discuss how “doing your best” changes from day to day. Also how doing your best is dependent on the previous 3 agreements and their interconnectedness.
Lynn has a funny first thought wrong about having her thunder stolen.
